Admissions

The Governing Body applies the guidelines given by the Local Authority in their booklet “Guide to Primary Education.”  This, and other helpful advice is available from the School Admissions Team,

For admission to Crown Wood Primary School application must be made to The School Admissions Team (above) and a form can be obtained from the School Office.  If your child is not allocated a place at your chosen school you can appeal against the decision.   Contact the Clerk to the Appeal Panel, Bracknell Forest Council, Easthampstead House, Town Square, Bracknell, RG12 1AQ

In the case of the Nursery the Governing Body is responsible for the admissions procedure.  The minimum age for admission is 3 years and children will be able to start the term after their third birthday.  Application should be made through the school office.  If the number of requests exceeds the number of places the following criteria will apply, in order of priority:

  1. Children with a statement of special educational needs that names Crown Wood Primary
  2. Children who are in the care of the Local Authority
  3. Children with siblings attending our Nursery
  4. Date of birth order (oldest first)

If the school does not have places for all children in one of the above categories, priority will be given to children who fulfil more than one of the admission criteria.   If there are still insufficient places then the radial distance (straight line on a map) between home and school will be used.
