Phased Re-opening of EYFS, Year 1 and Year 6

Please read this letter and / or watch this video from the Headteacher which set out how we intend to gradually invite more children back to school.  The key points are:

The earliest we will invite children in Nursery and Reception back into school will be during the week beginning 8 June.  Children in Year 1 and Year 6 will be invited back - in stages - during the following weeks depending on circumstances.

You should not send your child to school on 1 June unless you are (a) a Critical Worker, your status has been checked and your child’s attendance has been agreed with us or (b) your child has been invited to attend by the SENCO, Mrs Winchcombe.  If your child is currently attending school, they can continue to do so.  If you have already contacted us and we have given approval, your child may attend.  If, after any change in government guidance, you believe you are now classed as a Critical Worker and your child is entitled to attend, please contact the school as soon as possible.

No other children should come back to school until we have contacted you with a specific starting date.

Nursery and Reception Class Transition Support

We have put some information on our website to support you with your child’s transition to Nursery and Reception in September.  We hope you find it useful.  Once a final decision has been made by the government about the phased re-opening of schools, we will review our plans for transition visits and let you know what we intend to do.  The pages can be found here:

Free School Meals (FSM)

The provision of benefits related Free School Meals (FSM) will be changing if schools re-open on 1st June.   Due to the fluid nature of the current period, however, those eligible for benefits related free school meals will continue to be offered vouchers for the first two weeks of the Summer term through the Edenred Voucher Scheme, irrespective of whether the school is open to more children.

A further update will be provided by Friday 5th June.

The scheme is being administered for our school by the Greenshaw Learning Trust (GLT).  Questions relating to Free School Meal vouchers should be sent to

If you think your child may be entitled to Free School Meals, please find more information here.
