Crown Wood Primary School is an academy within The Greenshaw Learning Trust (GLT) and the Greenshaw Learning Trust is the admissions authority for the school.

Crown Wood Primary School has a Published Admissions Number of 90 for entry into Reception in September 2020.

For entry into Reception Class in September 2020:  Parents must submit their Common Application Form stating their preferred schools to Bracknell Forest Borough Council (or their 'home' Local Authority, if outside Bracknell Forest) no later than 15 January 2020.  Appeals for entry to Reception in September 2019 must be received by Thursday 21st May 2020.  Full details, including over subscription criteria, can be read here:  Admissions Arrangements 2020-21.

Nursery Admissions

Crown Wood Primary School has a maximum of 39 places in its nursery. This comprises of 39 in the morning session and 39 in the afternoon session.  

We will admit 18 for Universal places (15 hours) and 21 for Extended places (30 hours).   If the school receives less than the published number of available places for universal entitlement then they will admit more extended entitlement places up to their admission number and vice-versa.  No places will be held back for children moving into the area or applying later. 

If after the offers have been made and a place becomes available at the nursery it will be offered according to the published criteria and numbers available under each entitlement.

We are only able to accept applications for full-time Nursery places from parents who are eligible for the government’s 30 hours funding.

Where the school receives more applications than places available then children should be admitted in the following order:

a) Children in public care (looked after children), or a child who was previously looked after or fostered under an arrangement made by the Local Authority (see definition under explanatory notes);

b) Children undergoing an Education, Health and Care Plan needs assessment or with an Education, Health and Care Plan (which names the school);

 c) Children of permanent staff where:

  • Where a member of staff has been employed at Crown Wood Primary School for two or more consecutive years; or
  • The member of staff has been recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage
  • In order of the proximity of their home address to Crown Wood Primary School, with the closest having the highest priority.

 d) Children who have siblings at the nursey or in the school, and who will still be attending the nursery or school at the time of the child’s admission. Sibling refers to brother or sister, half brother or sister, adopted brother or sister, stepbrother or sister, or the child of the parent/carer’s partner, and in every case, who is living as part of the same family unit at the same address, Monday to Friday.

 e) Other children by age order (admitting eldest first).
